Stand in for someone who has no one else to stand for them.
AGS is appointed for adults who cannot pay for a private guardian and have no family able to serve. Court appointment does not come with the funds to do the work well. Donations pay for professional guardians on complex cases, training and support for volunteers, and the small concrete help — a winter coat, a holiday gift, a ride to a visit — that public contracts rarely cover.

- Professional guardian time on cases a volunteer should not carry alone.
- Training, background checks, and staff support that keep volunteer guardians effective and accountable.
- Personal-needs help and the Holiday Gifts program for people living on a small monthly allowance.
- Community education so families and facilities ask for guardianship only when it is the right tool.

Other ways to help
Tell a colleague in a hospital, nursing home, or congregation what this work is. Serve as a volunteer guardian if you can take on the legal role. Volunteer to help at an event or in the office. These all matter and are a huge help.
